This stunning six-part nature series tells the inspiring story of the rebirthing of the wild regions of the continent of Europe. A land formerly full of diverse wildlife and contrasting landscapes, Europe was in need of special rewilding teams to embark on a mission to return species to their natural habitat and this series focuses on six regions that have benefitted from the project. The Carpathian Mountains of Romania have seen the reintroduction of European bison while rural depopulation in Spain and Portugal offers up the opportunity to expand the wild nature of the Iberian Peninsula. The teams also look at how bears and humans can live peacefully, side by side and explores the myriad creatures that call the Danube Delta home. The unique culture and atmosphere of Lapland plays host to distinctive wildlife and the Sámi people and a natural balance is being restored to the Balkans. Director: Laurent Frapat (2021)
