In a post-Edwardian era, Tom is in the basement of an impressive manor house belonging to an aristocratic family, shovelling coal into the heater, when the butler beckons the downstairs cat. He asks Tom to rid the upstairs of a troublesome mouse before the snooty owners return for dinner. If Tom succeeds, he'll live and work the rest of his life upstairs with all the privileges that affords. But, the butler warns Tom: the lady of the house has a meticulous eye for detail and will know if anything is out of place. Unfortunately for Tom, Jerry overhears this conversation, so hunting that mouse without creating a mess will be a challenge.
